Scars form when the dermis is damaged, the dermis is responsible for collagen and skin repaid. A scar is an area of fibrous tissue that replaces normal skin after injury. Scars result from the biological process of wound repair in the skin. Scars are caused by trauma such as; burns, trauma and lesions. Depending on the individual, scar formation is varied.
However, Keloid scarring is a continuous production of collagen, resulting in scar tissue growing and becoming large. Keloid scarring would need to be approved by a DR if it could be treated, the usual methods would be freezing the scar in early stages or laser for the redness, however does not make it smaller.
